New book from Dr. Andy Clarno
Professor Andy Clarno's co-authored book Imperial Policing: Weaponized Date in Carceral Chicago is out! Co-authored by Enrique Alvear Moreno, Janaé Bonsu-Love, Lydia Dana, Michael De Anda Muñiz, Ilā Ravichandran, Haley Volpintesta, and Andy Clarno, the book analyzes the role of local police, federal immigration authorities, and national security agencies in upholding Chicago’s highly unequal social order. It highlights the weaponization of data as a key mechanism facilitating coordination between CPD, ICE, the FBI and partners of the US empire, including Israel. The authors are organizing two book launch events in October. Save the date and we hope you can attend! Masks will be required and available at both events.
