About the Speaker
Dr. Taís de Sant'Anna Machado has a PhD in Sociology and her research focuses on Sociology of Race Relations and Critical Food Studies, with an interest in anti-black racism, culinary work and intersectionality. She also works with the production and analysis of gender and race data in the field of Education. Dr. Sant'Anna recently published the book "A foot in the kitchen: a socio-historical look at the work of black women working as cooks in Brazil" (2022).
